Silver and Turquoise Wild Rose Pendant
I found three beautiful cut pieces of estate turquoise in one of my favorite rock shops and decided to create a trio of garden-inspired pendants to showcase the beauty of these stones. The turquoise in this pendant is a deep blue-green, almost the color of the glacier-fed mountain lakes here in Washington State. The pierced designs on the front are hand sawn using my jeweler’s saw, and the leaf soldered to the back was textured by hand using my chasing tool and metal stamps.
The patterns you see front and back are pressed into annealed sterling silver, oxidized dark, and then polished to brighten the high spots and enhance the textured details. I added a Whitewater Turquoise bead to the end of the chain.
Metal: Sterling silver and fine silver bezel
Stone: Turquoise
Pendant: 1-3/4-inch tall by 1-1/2 inch wide (4.5x4cm)
Necklace Length: 18 inches (46cm) plus 2 inch (5cm) sterling silver extender chain
